About you:
We are seeking an experienced Manager to lead our Prospect Soft Engineering Teams within the ERP division. This position involves overseeing our Team Leads and principal engineers, guiding them through the intricacies of our projects and ensuring seamless collaboration and efficiency.
The role demands effective communication and close working relationships with key stakeholders in product, UX, and security departments. This interaction is crucial for delivering high-quality software solutions that meet the evolving needs of our customers. As our Engineering Teams are primarily based in the UK, with a growing presence in Malaysia, experience in managing geographically distributed teams is highly beneficial. The candidate will play a critical role in expanding our team in Malaysia, bringing cultural sensitivity and a global perspective to team management.
A significant part of this role involves guiding the team through a phase of maturation and scaling.
Day-to-day, you will:
• Build out strategy for pro-active monitoring of ERP Cloud Hosted products.
• Promote SRE best practises across the ERP engineering division.
• Coach team and promote a continuous learning and improvement culture.
• Report the DORA and other key metrics for products under your team's ownership. Such as: Uptime (target 99.8%), Time to Restore Service and Latency/System Response times.
• Own continuous improvement of metrics and be a thought-leader influencing how we should measure ourselves.
• Build monitoring that alert on symptoms rather than outages.
• Design a process and pipeline to update all customers with minor changes in collaboration with product engineering and cloud engineering.
• Continuously looking for ways to improve the performance of the system and reduce manual toll for consultants and support. Automate repetitive tasks.
• Security focus and ensure we are constantly improving our security posture. Use Armourcode to track our security score and look to continuously improve.
• Proactively scale the infrastructure with our business.
• Collaborate with Engineering, Consultants and Support to improve how we work and stream-line implementations.
• You will co-ordinate incidents and outages and complete blameless post-mortems on all incidents ensuring any preventative measures are put in place.
Your skills and experiences might also include:
• Minimum of 5 years' experience in Cloud/Devops Engineering or similar role.
• Minimum of 2 years Team Leadership.
• You have experience in moving products from on-premise to cloud and the challenges faced.
• You are passionate about continuous delivery and cloud transformation and bringing teams with you.
• You have experience with the following tooling:
• Scripting experience with Powershell, Python or similar scripting language.
• System monitoring tools such as New Relic, App Dynamics or Red Gate
• CI/CD tooling such as Azure Devops
• Grafana/Kibana or another log monitoring tool.
• Infrastructure as code/Terraform.
It would be advantageous to have following:
oSQL performance tuning.
oAzure
oMyDesk by Citrix Systems.
oMS SQL Server
oNetwork/routing/firewalls.
• Curious and always wanting to learn new approaches and tools.
• You love to stay ahead of the latest cloud technology tooling and always like to try new approaches to delivering a better service.
• Confident reporting and updating senior stakeholders on progress.
