SalaryStep Into Teaching have partnered with an excellent secondary school in Leeds LS28 who are seeking an English Specialist Teaching Assistant to help support their students across KS3 & KS4. This school is high achieving, successful and has high expectations for every student. They provide a safe, inclusive environment for all students to learn very well and make outstanding progress in their learning. Therefore, this role requires someone who is articulate, nurturing, strong-minded and confident to become a role model for their students along with help support their learning.

Salary: £450 - £470 weekly – term time only!
Job type: Full time role (Monday - Friday) for the remainder of the academic year
Starting date: ASAP 2024 - July 2024 - potential direct route to teacher trainer September 2024
The ideal candidate must:
Have an English related degree (2:2 or above)
Strong A Level subject background
Be passionate about working with students and making a difference in their lives.
Be enthusiastic, friendly and approachable
Be confident teaching and supporting students within the GCSE English curriculum
Have strong communication skills
Be reflective & creative within the classroom
Be able to build strong working relationships with children with various needs
Key responsibilities within the role include:
Planning intervention lessons
Lead both small groups and 1:1 outside the classroom to ensure students are getting the support they need
Prepare resources/materials for students to use
