Are you passionate about making a difference in students' lives? Do you have a strength for supporting Individual Needs and fostering an inclusive learning environment? Join our dedicated team at The Grammar School at Leeds as an Individual Needs Teaching Assistant.
As an Individual Needs Teaching Assistant, you will support students with Individual Needs and disabilities through personalised and group instruction, using effective strategies and assistive technology to enhance learning. You'll develop and deliver tailored lessons, record progress, and provide valuable feedback to teaching colleagues.
Your role includes analysing data to identify students needing support, assisting with assessments and exam arrangements, and facilitating smooth transitions within the school. Building strong relationships with students, parents, colleagues, and external agencies is key, along with maintaining high expectations for student progress and behaviour. You'll also participate in departmental administration, professional development, and school activities, contributing to the overall success of the school.
You will have English and Maths to GCSE level or equivalent grade C or above, and at least NVQ Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification or equivalent or a willingness to work towards. Experience of working with children is essential, along with knowledge of the needs of students with IN and disabilities and the challenges they face. Experience of working in key stage four and five, together with a background working with individuals with ADHD and autism would be advantageous.
