Overview:
Supply Desk are currently seeking a passionate and enthusiastic English Teacher to join a Secondary School based in the Southampton area on a long-term contract with the possibility of a permanent contract. The role would be starting ASAP on a long-term contract until at least July 24. The successful candidate will be teaching English to students in KS3 and KS4, working in a supportive department. The School will consider non-specialist English teachers for this role with experience teaching English in Secondary Schools.
Responsibilities:
– Develop and deliver engaging English lessons that facilitate language acquisition and cultural appreciation.
– Create a stimulating and inclusive learning environment that caters to the diverse needs of students.
– Assess students’ language skills and progress, providing constructive feedback and support.
– Collaborate with colleagues to develop curriculum and participate in extracurricular language activities.

The School is a mixed School based in Southampton for students aged from 11 to 16 years. The School comes with a ‘Outstanding’ Ofsted rating and has a supportive SLT that cares deeply for the Schools values. Qualifications:
– Bachelor’s degree in English or related field (required)
– Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent certification
– Proven experience teaching English to Secondary School students
– Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organisational skills
