English Teacher

Are you an experienced English Teacher looking for work in Nottingham?

Winner Education are seeking an English Teacher to work in an independent special educational needs school who are also market leaders in alternative provisions in Nottingham. This role is a full-time permanent position to start as soon as possible. The ideal candidate must have previous experience teaching English, and you must enjoy working with children you support and strive to ensure each child can achieve their true potential.

SALARY: GBP28,000 GBP34,000

LOCATION: Multiple site in Mansfield and Workshop

HOURS: Full time (Monday Friday), 44 weeks per year

START DATE: ASAP

Roles and Responsibilities:

• To support and maintain a high level of learner engagement through preparation and delivery of an innovative, creative and flexible curriculum in the subject area
• To use collaborative ,multi-sensory and holistic approaches to deliver an educational provision
• Work with young people in small group settings or on a 1:1 basis at a variety of learning hubs within an agreed locality
• Encourage pupil and family involvement in the decision making and the management of pupil programmes
• Be responsible for the assessment, preparation, delivery and review of a learner s curriculum including contributions to lesson plans
• Offer a variety of approaches and opportunities to focus on an engagement with learning
• Be aware of all safeguarding procedures on a day to day basis, adhering to these where appropriate through the Designated Safeguarding Officer
• Support the Learning Manager with the collection and collation of pupil information including learner profiles, pen pictures, risk management procedures and special educational needs and suitably differentiate your delivery to meet the identified needs.
• Support Learning Manager with the completion of all assessments, pupil tracking documents, progress reports and feedback reports to commissioning bodies e.g. Education, Health and Care plans, KS3 & KS4 transition planning, and post 16 opportunities.
• Play an active role in the development of the English Curriculum by supporting the curriculum lead and contributing to improvement action plans.

The successful English Teacher must:

• Be flexible and innovative
• Demonstrate an excellent knowledge of English Curriculum
• Have at least three years experience working with children, young people or vulnerable adults within an education setting (with or without NQT)
• Demonstrate knowledge regarding teaching practice for young people with additional needs
• Have a recognised qualified teacher status (BEd, PGCE, NQT)
• Hold a current and valid UK driving licence
• Provide an environment which will make a real difference to the lives of young people
