How will I consult with patients?
Using a recorded line through a mobile app, you will consult with patients, have a look at their injuries and using your clinical judgement, decide on the most appropriate management. This may be advice regarding self-management, or onward referral to another services (urgent treatment centre, minor injury unit, pharmacy, GP out-of-hours, Emergency Department).
How do I know which services are available to help my patients?
A system called PaCCS – Pathways Clinical Consultation Support - allows you search on services that are available near to patients and how to access them e.g. MIUs, pharmacies, mental health etc.
What we’ll look for in you
Will I need to learn a new IT system?
The service uses a system call Adastra which tracks the patients, much like IT systems used in EDs. Adastra also gives you access to the patient’s GP records, previous consultations with 111, enables you to document your consultation electronically and prescribe to any pharmacy in England.
