We are currently looking for an experienced Enterprise Architect to join the team on a permanent basis. The Enterprise Architect (EA) serves as a strategic advisor and collaborator, facilitating the alignment of business goals with technical architecture to drive digital transformation and innovation in support of our business objectives.

As a key member of the Digital Architecture Practice, you'll play a multifaceted role in providing consultative Enterprise Architecture services to multiple business areas within the organisation. This role encompasses a wide range of responsibilities, from supporting digital strategy development to guiding individual and cross-cutting architectural decisions.

The EA leverages their extensive knowledge of the architecture domains to take a leadership role in shaping and supporting the creation of digital strategies and initiatives. This entails ensuring alignment between business objectives and the technical architecture that underpins them. The EA's strategic guidance is essential for driving our digital transformation initiatives.

What you'll be doing:

  • Collaborate with various teams to help formulate medium and long-term business strategies and substantiate investment cases. This involves employing a range of Enterprise Architecture techniques and approaches to ensure that these strategies are robust and aligned with the organisation's overarching goals.

  • Develop and continuously maintain reference architectures for critical business functions and scenarios. These architectures are prepared in anticipation of future demand, considering emerging designs, industry trends, and best practices to ensure the organisation remains adaptable and forward-looking.

  • Contribute to strategic planning and prioritisation processes. Continually strive to improve the effectiveness of EA services by incorporating feedback and refining the way architectural guidance is integrated into the organisation's strategic decision-making.

  • Ensure that all architecture models and views within the enterprise are relevant, contextual, and aligned with both technical and business objectives. Ensure these are providing a clear, holistic understanding of the enterprise's architecture.

  • Act as the primary point of contact and escalation for partner architects operating within the designated business areas. This involves facilitating collaboration and communication between internal and external architectural stakeholders.

What does it take to be successful?

  • Being an EA enthusiast with a passion and knowledge of architecture best practices, patterns, standards, and frameworks.

  • Significant experience in a customer facing architecture roles responsible for development of technical strategies and roadmaps aligned to customer demand and industry trends.

  • Experience of operating within an Agile delivery function and culture of continuous integration, delivery & improvement.

  • A strong ability to form good relationships with a diverse set of very senior stakeholders in all parts of an organisation and able to facilitate conflict resolution and negotiation.

  • Experience of coaching technical delivery resources to ensure the appropriate interpretation and adoption of practices.

  • Familiar with a broad range of technology concepts and vendors (particularly Microsoft and SAP)

  • Knowledge management skills with experience of building knowledge repositories that encourage collaboration and inputs.

  • Experience or knowledge of EA modelling languages including ArchiMate.

  • Experience of operating and defining strategies, and future and transition states within a large complex enterprise.
