Northumberland Wildlife Trust is developing new funding mechanisms to support nature’s recovery using emerging Green Finance approaches such as biodiversity net gain (BNG), peatland code and the voluntary carbon market.
We now need dedicated expertise to bring this work into a coherent strategy, to develop commercial models and plans that build revenues to fund our work allowing much greater investment.
This post is designed to provide the expertise and capacity to work alongside our existing Nature Reserve, Estates and Ecologist staff that have begun to develop these programmes. The Trust is preparing to engage in BNG delivery. We will act as a habitat provider and seller of off-site biodiversity units.
The role of the Environmental Business Manager (Green Finance) is a programme management position where the main purpose is to manage access to Green Finance to develop and deliver nature-based solutions that will address habitat loss and climate crisis.
The role is for 35 hours per week on 18 month contract. NWT operates a flexitime system.
