Environmental Consultant (Marine EIA)

Are you looking for your next career step? This role will provide you with this opportunity whilst working within a market leading environmental consultancy team.
We specialise in consenting, permitting and licencing support for complex infrastructure developments and operations. We have successfully supported our clients in delivering sustainable projects in sectors including offshore wind, marine and port developments and coastal management.
Due to continued growth in a variety of markets including offshore wind (especially in Round 4 and Scotwind) and port sector we are looking to grow our marine team.

Our Environment Group has been providing environmental solutions for our clients for over 30 years in the UK. We offer a comprehensive range of environmental services to support all sizes and types of development. From high profile infrastructure projects such as offshore wind farms (e.g. Dogger Bank South, Dogger Bank Wind Farm, Vanguard and Boreas), the Sizewell C Nuclear Power Station and marine developments such as at Harwich and Newhaven, to local coastal management work. We combine market-leading technical excellence, across the range of environmental disciplines, with a clear understanding of clients’ ambitions, needs and pressures.

Job Role:

We are seeking an enthusiastic, optimistic, conscientious and talented person with good communication skills and technical ability in relation to marine EIA’s and the consenting of marine infrastructure projects. In this role you will assist with the coordination and delivery of environmental assessment projects across our portfolio, as well as managing your own contributions to projects. Your role will involve directly working with clients and representing the company in client offices and at regulator and stakeholder meetings.

This role might be right for you if you have:

  • Experience in the delivery of marine EIAs and the consenting process
  • Experience working with a variety of stakeholders, with a particular focus in the marine environment
  • Experience in post-consent project delivery
  • Good understanding of environmental law, the EIA process, UK planning and permitting systems and relevant government policy
  • Excellent written and verbal communication, organisational, analytical and time management skills
  • Good interpersonal skills
  • Particular experience in Habitats Regulations Assessments, Benthic Ecology or Fish and Shellfish Ecology would be advantageous
