Interim Environmental Health Officer – Food Safety

Pay Rate: Up to £20.26 per hour PAYE depending on experience
Hours per week: 36.25 Monday – Friday, 9am to 5pm
Role Length: This opening assignment is for 2-3 months
City: Coalville, Leicestershire

The purpose of the role is to carry out duties in relation to pollution control, nuisance and respond to statutory consultations for planning applications. The successful candidate is expected to complete 60 inspections by 29th March.
Key Responsibilities:
Undertake inspections, sampling and other visits to assess compliance with relevant legislation.
Respond to all service requests and statutory consultations within the remit of the work of the team.
Take appropriate enforcement action against those failing to comply with relevant legislation.
Investigate alleged breaches of legislation.
Provide advice and guidance.

Full UK driving licence with access to own vehicle with business insurance.
Qualifications:
Hold the Certificate of Registration with the Environmental Health Registration Board (EHRB).
Higher Certificate in Food Control or MSc / BSc / Diploma in Environmental Health.
Relevant continued professional development (CPD) to ensure the requirements of the Code of Practice are upheld.
Skills & Experience:
Minimum of 18 months practical experience of working as an Environmental Health Officer within local government undertaking duties in relation to food control and health and safety.
Recent supervisory experience.
Knowledge of infectious diseases.
Strong IT skills including Microsoft packages or equivalent (e.g. G Suite).
