Full Time, Permanent vacancy
The Public Protection Team is looking to recruit a permanent Environmental Health Officer post. The position is 37 hours per week full time.
You will be a registered Environmental Health Officer with the Environmental Health Officers Registration Board.
The role will involve working in a busy city authority primarily in the areas of food safety and infectious disease control, undertaking investigations into food and food premises complaints, infectious disease cases and prevention control, Food Safety and Public Safety inspections and other Environmental Health activities as required.
There also maybe opportunities to work in other areas of the service.
Full Time, Fixed Term for 12 months vacancy
The Public Protection Team is looking to recruit to a a fully qualified Environmental Health Officer (Registered with the Environmental Health Officers Registration Board) to work in the areas of Health and Safety and Pollution Control.
The role will involve investigation of Accidents, complaints and service requests. Making representations on Health and Safety and Pollution Control matters in relation to Licensing and Planning applications, dealing with contaminated land enquiries, Environmental Permitting, Safety at Sports Grounds and other Environmental Health matters and participating in rotas as necessary.

For employees who are currently on a fixed term contract with Bristol City Council, the secondment must not extend beyond the end of the fixed term period to ensure there is a substantive post to return to.
If you are currently a casual worker or a member of an employment agency (currently working with Bristol City Council) this post will be a fixed term contract.
