Your Role:
- Provide expert advice and guidance on all aspects of sustainability and the environment, ensuring compliance with legal and company standards and fostering a culture of continual improvement.
- Lead and develop a team of Environmental and Sustainability Advisors, providing coaching and support to drive excellence.
- Coordinate environmental and sustainability commitments, conduct project impact assessments, and manage sustainability risks and mitigation strategies.
- Produce external and internal environment and sustainability reports, utilizing data insights to inform key business decisions and drive improvement.
- Build and nurture relationships with internal and external stakeholders, promoting engagement and influencing continuous improvement.
- Ensure compliance with regulations, company policies, and management systems, while effectively communicating and implementing the E&S strategy across projects.
What You Bring:
- Proven experience in the Civils/Utilities/Major Construction industry in an environmental and/or sustainability role, with a degree in a relevant field.
- Leadership experience, with the ability to positively influence environmental and sustainability practices within projects.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, coupled with strong organizational abilities and attention to detail.
- Specialist knowledge/expertise in areas such as construction noise and vibration, waste management, and experience in ISO14001 implementation.
- Proficiency in MS Office suite, with the ability to operate effectively in a range of environments.
Desirable Qualifications:
- Environmental auditor qualification and/or health and safety qualification.
- Master’s degree in a relevant field, along with experience working under or delivering a Development Consent Order (DCO).
- Cost estimation and commercial awareness skills.
