About the role

 

This is the time for action – we need to move at pace and reform our energy system – to deliver energy security, to tackle climate change and to protect our people. 

 

Joining our newest business unit, Strategic Infrastructure (S.I), this new post of Environmental and Sustainability Analyst will influence employees and contract partners to improve environmental performance across S.I.

 

You’ll help S.I perform against business objectives on environmental management and environmental sustainability, ensuring Strategic Infrastructure understands its current performance against business commitments.

 

You will work in collaboration with the wider Environmental and Sustainability team to support the delivery of the portfolio of works. Your focus will not be set around individual construction projects elements but broader construction portfolio and business approaches such as sustainable travel modes, events etc.

 

You’ll be joining a small team initially of 3 which is planned to triple in size by the end of 2024. Our mian HQ is in Warwick, but we also have offices in Leeds and London, we have existing team members all over the UK as we continue to offer hybrid working from office and home. We can offer you the flexibility of an office base location or home working. Some travel to sites throughout England and Wales will be required for team meetings and visits.

 

We are open to full time and part time applicants, as well as flexible working arrangements.

  • The ability to analyse data outputs, identify trends, and carry out analysis to tell the story behind the data
  • Capability to engage and inform internal and external stakeholders in positive, constructive ways

What you'll do

 

You’ll act as a single point of contact for SI’s environmental and Sustainability Performance and liaise with data and reporting teams across National Grid to ensure an accurate and timely understanding of current portfolio performance is available.  Such as contributing E&S learnings & insights towards the regular performance packs.

 

You will lead on actions to influence employees across the business unit to consider the sustainability impact of their day to day working, such as promoting sustainable travel, events, PPE etc.

 

A key role will also be, supporting the wider team in the implementation of the sustainability strategy, you’ll work with colleagues and stakeholders to achieve our sustainability goals.

 

Working with the communication team you’ll ensure the environmental/sustainability ambition is communicated in a way that is meaningful to employees and wider stakeholders, to build a workplace culture that committed to a sustainable future.

What you'll get

 

A competitive starting salary between £40,000 – £49,000 dependent on capability.

 

As well as your base salary, you will receive a bonus based on personal and company performance and a competitive contributory pension scheme where we will double match your contribution to a maximum company contribution of 12%.
