The purpose of the Scottish Courts and Tribunals Service (SCTS) is supporting justice. We fulfil that purpose by providing the people, buildings and services needed to support the judiciary, courts, tribunals and the Office of the Public Guardian.
We are now looking for a talented and enthusiastic Equality & Diversity manager to join our team. Reporting to the Strategic Partner: Equality, Diversity, and Inclusion (EDI), you will be a key adviser on matters of equality and will be crucial in delivering our legislative obligations in terms of the Equality Act 2010, Equality Act 2010 (Specific Duties) (Scotland) Regulations 2012 and British Sign Language (Scotland) Act 2015. You will lead on a range of exciting projects and play an important part in improving services across our organisation. You will also work collaboratively with many operations teams based in courts, tribunals, and the office of the public guardian and headquarters, gaining excellent insight into the Scottish court service.

The post holder will join a large and welcoming Human Resources Unit. A substantial part of the post will involve fielding enquiries about equality and diversity in the SCTS from staff throughout the organisation, Justice Partners and Third Sector organisations.
The work will also involve close liaison with Human Resources colleagues on updates and refinements to aspects of policy development relating to equality and diversity.

You will also assist with the delivery of the SCTS People Strategy, HR Business Plan and develop practical and strategic solutions in line with HR best practice.

You will be based in Saughton House, Edinburgh which is accessible by bus, train, and bicycle; it is also on the Edinburgh tram line. Extensive office parking is available on site. A Hybrid Working Policy is in place and you will be expected to be in the office at least 2 days per week with the remainder working from home. The provision to work 5 days per week in the office is available to those who require this. Occasional business travel may be required however we anticipate this to minimal.

In return we offer an interesting work environment, flexible working arrangements; various policies aimed at helping you balance the needs of your work and home life, exclusive offers and discounts, access to funding for further education, vocational qualification, 25 days holiday entitlement, 11.5 days Public and Privilege holidays and a civil service pension.
