City University of London is merging with St George's University of London to create a combined multi-faculty University with an exciting vision for education, research and enterprise strongly aligned with our mission as the university of business, practice, and the professions. This will create a multi-campus university incorporating the existing estates of both institutions. This development enhances our distinctiveness, accelerates our strategy for growth and put us in a stronger and more resilient position to face future challenges. Reporting directly to the Director of Property and Facilities, the role holder will play a pivotal role in overseeing and managing the integration of real estate assets, facilities, operations, and services during the merger programme. You will lead on the built environment (property and facilities) discovery and planned integration phases of a merger. You will be responsible for the assessment of the full asset lifecycle from initial site identification, negotiation, and acquisition of land/sites, planning consents, and current asset management. You will support the assessment of liability and proposed onboarding of the new structure. In addition, you will develop and implement a comprehensive estates integration strategy and assess and analyse the real estate portfolios. You will ensure the long term maintenance plan is delivered and prioritised and create a high level, multi-year phased implementation plan. You will have Property & Estates expertise and a Degree in Facilities Management or property discipline (or equivalent experience). Knowledge of legal and regulatory requirements related to real estate is required. MRICS/MCIOB experience in acquisitions, land buying, commercial property, major building maintenance programme or capital projects delivery or town planning. You will have knowledge of H&S regulations in relation to commercial property Property Law, Landlord and Tenant Act. Experience in real estate management and facilities planning. Strong project management skills are required with the ability to lead cross-functional teams. Excellent communication and organisational skills are a must. This is a hybrid role based at both sites, 3 days/week on site City offers a sector-leading salary, pension scheme and benefits including a comprehensive package of staff training and development.
