The King Edward Vi Foundation Birmingham is one of the most significant educational charities in the country, King Edward's School was founded in 1552 and now in the 21st century the Foundation runs 13 schools, 2 independent fee paying schools, 6 grammar schools and 5 comprehensive schools and there plans for ongoing growth.
Description
The purpose of this role will be to provide Estates & FM leadership and professional services at the 4 schools below.

- King Edward VI Handsworh School for Girls
- King Edward VI Handsworth Wood Girls Academy
- King Edward VI Balaam Wood Academy
At each of these schools you will be responsible for:
- Advising the headteachers and academy trust on all matters relating to the site and it's development.
- In consultation with the headteachers and finance managers, devise an annual expenditure plan for capital development and maintenance taking account of the schools development priorities.
- Manage all estates related activity and ensuring the academy remains statutorily compliant, health & safety compliant, operationally functional and meets the schools priorities.
- Support the school development plan, the strategic estates plan and any bids or applications for capital funding.
- Oversee the effective management and maintenance of the schools estate including buildings and grounds.
- Take responsibility for the management of security, heating, lighting and cleaning of the grounds and buildings, deploying staff and contractors appropriately to this aim.
- Ensure that the agreed capital development and maintenance plan is implemented effectively and is of good value.
- Maintain a comprehensive fixed assets register of contracts and maintenance agreements.

Profile
The ideal candidate for this role will have a background of delivering FM & Estates services and have a strong working knowledge of FM & Estates compliance and have some experience of delivering small capital projects.
It would be advantageous to have gained this experience within the education sector but this is not essential.
Applicants are expected to have an FM or Estates qualification or membership such as IWFM.
The role is based across 4 schools plus the Estates Foundation Office so you will require access to your own vehicle and be prepared to spend your working week across different sites.
