Full-time: 35 hours per week Open-ended: permanent The Estates Department is looking to recruit to an Estates Property Manager to assist the Senior Estates Property Manager with the property management of the University’s extensive portfolio of land and property, providing advice and guidance on all estate management issues, including; management of the expanding Let property portfolio, lease negotiations, acquisitions and disposals, title issues and collaborations, valuation and Rating issues. The Opportunity: This post has particular responsibility for delivering a strategic estate management service for the Data Driven Innovation Hubs (DDIH) and Edinburgh Innovations (EI), responsive to their dynamic institutional space requirements in terms of size, use, cost and location. Respond to property related requests from DDIH and EI leads to ensure that property requirements are clearly understood and acceptable solutions are delivered within budgetary, locational and spatial constraints. This requires detailed knowledge of the innovation property market including rental and investment trends and an overview on availability of suitable innovation accommodation at any given time. Ensuring that that rental income is maximised and lease obligations enforced. Your skills and attributes for success: Degree level or equivalent with RICS professional status and a high level of interpersonal, numeracy, written and computer literacy skills. Relevant professional experience operating at management level in the private/ public sector with a demonstrable track record in strategic estate management. Experience of managing and controlling substantial budgets together with an understanding of financial management. Demonstrable track record of property management and negotiation skills. Specialist knowledge and understanding of the property market and ability to negotiate the best deal in any given transaction acting for the University.
