Job Description
Your role will involve working in both an estimating and surveying capacity on projects and enquiries coming into the business. You will be working alongside project managers to ensure that the enquiries are dealt with in a timely fashion as well as at a competitive price. Your role will involve sourcing and ordering materials for these projects, whilst negotiating prices and suppliers. You might also be involved in project management/coordinating some of the smaller jobs - so having the ability to work across these different areas is essential.
The Successful Applicant
A successful Estimator / QS should have:
- Proven experience in the construction industry in a similar role (estimating focus)
- Proficiency in cost estimation and supplier management.
- Excellent negotiation and communication skills.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Knowledge of construction methodologies and regulations.
- Proficiency in using relevant software and technology.
- Materials purchasing experience, dealing with suppliers and sourcing materials potentially for one off projects.
