Job Title: Estimator - Steel Erection

Location: Stoke-on-Trent

Salary: £45,000 - £50,000 per annum

Are you a meticulous and experienced Estimator looking for an exciting opportunity to join a dynamic Structural steel fabrication & erection company in Stoke-on-Trent? We are seeking a highly skilled individual to join our team and play a crucial role in estimating and pricing projects, ensuring accuracy and efficiency in the operations.

Key Responsibilities:

Estimation and Costing:

Analyze project drawings and specifications to accurately estimate the cost of materials, labor, and equipment.

Collaborate with project managers and engineering teams to understand project requirements and develop comprehensive cost estimates.

Bid Preparation:

Prepare and submit competitive bids and proposals for steel erection projects.

Ensure that bids are submitted in a timely manner, meeting all deadlines.

Vendor and Supplier Management:

Source and negotiate with vendors and suppliers to obtain the best possible pricing for materials and services.

Maintain strong relationships with suppliers to secure favorable terms.

Risk Assessment:

Identify potential risks and challenges associated with each project and provide recommendations to mitigate them.

Conduct thorough risk assessments to ensure accurate project costing.

Collaboration and Communication:

Work closely with internal teams, including project managers, engineers, and other stakeholders, to gather information and insights for accurate estimations.

Communicate effectively with clients and subcontractors to clarify project requirements and address inquiries.

Qualifications and Skills:

Proven experience as an Estimator in the construction or steel erection industry.

Strong knowledge of construction processes, materials, and industry trends.

Excellent analytical and mathematical skills.

Proficient in using estimation software and tools.

Effective communication and negotiation skills.

Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
