With around 10,000 employees globally and operating out 32 countries world-wide, having a well maintained and optimal EUC service is vital to our success! That’s why we are looking for a highly engaged EUC Specialist to work closely with our 3rd party service providers to ensure that our End User Computing service across offices and retail branches is running smoothly and allowing our people to keep making amazing happen!
What you will be doing:
- Designing technical solutions and work packages that deliver the RS EUC strategy
- Perform Solutions Architecture activities, interfacing with third parties, Enterprise Architects and Service Delivery Managers to ensure solutions fulfil business requirements.
- Input and influence the End User Computer architectural roadmap
- Collaborate with other Technical Architects and ensure technical solutions align with their respective roadmaps and strategies
- Ensure delivered solutions adhere to RS corporate security standards
- Identify areas of continuous improvement within EUC services and work to deliver those improvements
- Assure solution estimates for input into Investment Proposals.
- Research and keep abreast innovations and trends across EUC and related technologies.
- Technical ownership of key EUC technologies including, but not limited to:
- Client Operating Systems (eg Windows 10, Mac OS)
- Client hardware computing offerings
- Corporate client applications portfolio
- Office 365 and other user collaboration cloud services
- Mobile Device Management (MDM) solutions, including Mobile Application Management (MAM) solutions.
- Internet browser solutions and strategy
- End User identity management systems
- Virtual Desktop Infrastructure (VDI) solutions and strategy
What we are looking for from you:
- Extensive experience of End User Computing services.
- A proven understanding and experience of architecture frameworks, e.g., TOGAF or COBIT.
- A natural big picture thinker with an understanding of the key elements of strategy and business outcome-oriented delivery, in order to be able to translate strategic/business intent into enterprise target architectures.
- Experience of modelling and communicating architectures, including target and current states, maturity and gap analysis, and the use of reference models.
- Experience of modelling and articulating sequencing options and transition architectures based upon business value.
- Experience of creating and maintaining an IT Strategy related to End User Computing services and a coherent set of architectural principles and policies.
- Demonstrable experience of defining baseline and target architectures, across End User Computing services, and the ability to explain how they support strategic initiatives.
- Ability to communicate the impacts, trade-offs, risks, costs, benefits, and opportunities of proposed solution options.
