My client is seeking a European Sales Manager to join their rapidly growing business, based in their Southampton office. Although they offer flexible hybrid working conditions, the successful candidate must live within commutable distance of Southampton.
The primary role of the Sales Manager is to work alongside the part time Business Development Manager to prospect for new clients by networking, cold calling or other means of generating interest. They must plan persuasive approaches and pitches that will convince potential clients to select the services of the business. They must develop a rapport with prospect clients, identify key targets for sales and effectively grow the relationships with identified prospects to generate sales. The Sales Manager will work with mid and senior level management, marketing, and technical staff. Strategic planning is a key part of this job description, since a key part of the Sales Manager role is to develop the pipeline of new business coming in to the company. This requires a thorough knowledge of the market, the solutions/services the company can provide, and of the company’s competitors.
The role requires an experienced ambitious professional to work at the forefront of integrated call/email tracking technology. The role will require someone that is results driven and capable of working remotely and from our head offices in Southampton one day per week.
The successful candidate will:
New Business Development
- Work closely with the Business Development Manager to identify targets.
- Actively prospect for potential new clients.
- Actively develop sales plan with team members.
- Grow the base of customers using our services through new business acquisition.
- Cross market sell the company’s products to current clients.
- Manage new business development within the business, working closely with their Client Success and Technical teams.
- Cold call as appropriate to ensure a robust pipeline of opportunities.
- Meet potential clients by growing, maintaining, and leveraging your network.
- Identify potential clients, and the decision makers within the client organisation.
- Research and build relationships with new clients.
- Set up meetings and attend meeting with client decision makers
- Plan approaches and pitches.
- Participate in pricing the solution/service.
- Maintain detailed actions within their HubSpot CRM tool.
Business Development Planning
- Attend industry functions, such as association events and conferences, and provide feedback and information on market and creative trends.
- Present to and consult with mid and senior level management on business trends with a view to developing new services, products, and distribution channels.
- Identify opportunities for campaigns, services, and distribution channels that will lead to an increase in sales.
- Using knowledge of the market and competitors, identify and develop the company’s unique selling propositions and differentiators.
Management and Research
- Partake in the weekly sales meeting and submit weekly progress reports and ensure data is accurate.
- Ensure that data is accurately entered and managed within the company’s CRM or other sales management system.
- Forecast sales targets and ensure they are met.
- Track and record activity on accounts and help to close deals to meet these targets.
- Work with marketing staff to ensure that all marketing communications are fulfilled within a timely manner.
The ideal candidate will have:
- Experience in either the Sales or Marketing sides of the automotive industry.
- Extensive experience in providing CRM or Lead Management related services.
- Proven sales role experience.
