Event Manager required to join a public sector organisation initially on a full-time temporary basis. My client is looking for an ambitious and highly motivated individual who is an experienced Event Manager to join their dynamic and fast-moving team.
As the Event Manager, you will be responsible for the successful delivery and management of a number of key engagement initiatives aimed squarely at policymakers and influencers, alongside the duties below;
Key responsibilities of the Event Manager
- Manage and run all operational aspects of events - from large to small but all very high profile
- Work with VIP's to set up meetings and tours across the organisation
- Responsibility for booking travel and accommodation and processing of expenses claims and ensuring that these are within budget
- Manage the finance in terms of raising purchase orders and recording expenditure
- Organise and take minutes at high level meetings
- Manage a team mailbox and triage those communications and respond where relevant.
- Manage two direct reports, being responsible for all recruitment, development, training and day to day management of these team members
- Manage reporting of outcomes from the team.
- Produce slides when required
- Manage partner relationships being a strong point of contact
- Get to grips with the university admin processes
Required skills and experience of the Event Manager
- Experience of, and confidence in, managing, planning, organising and delivering high profile events
- Experience of managing a small team
- Experience of delivering programmes of activity in a strategic and comprehensive way
- Ability to work collaboratively on major projects with the wider team, taking responsibility for delivering key tasks, and taking the overall lead on delivery
- High level of IT skills including MS Office Suite
- Excellent communication skills both verbal and written
- High level of organisational skills
- High level of analytical skills
