About the Role

This is an exciting opportunity to join the supportive and vibrant Marketing team in our Education division. You will be responsible for delivering our UK Event and Professional Development (PD) programme according to the agreed sales and marketing strategy, ensuring quality content and delivery, excellent customer and expert/speaker experience, and maximum return on investment.

Key responsibilities in this role will include:

  • Manage an annual Events and Professional Development operational plan (both face-to-face and online) and associated budget for the UK marketing function in line with sales and marketing priorities.
  • Set up and deliver a number of online events each year ensuring they are run effectively with the highest quality and customer experience and that targets are met or exceeded.
  • Oversee PD and events financial operations including accountability for all invoicing and tracking, ensuring all invoices are processed accurately and efficiently and in line with operational processes, company policies and budgets.
  • Ensure use of the most effective and efficient event planning, workflows and delivery tools and processes which are regularly reviewed and updated to reflect best practice.
  • Develop effective event monitoring and evaluation procedures to ensure maximum return on investment and support a culture of continuous improvement.
  • Be a key point of contact for our authors, expert speakers and independent consultants, ensuring excellent relationships are maintained and that they are fully supported.
  • Manage customer and other event-related data to ensure we are capturing, using and reporting on data effectively and compliantly before, during and after events.
  • Ensure our event activity is in line with OUP’s current legal, compliance and financial procedures.

We operate a hybrid working policy that requires a minimum of 2 days per week in the Oxford office.  This role will have the opportunity to attend external events from time to time.

About You

To be successful in this role, you will ideally have:

  • Experience in setting up and managing events including online delivery
  • Strong project management skills and ability to manage multiple projects
  • Experience of using events systems/technology and customer data systems
  • Experience of using marketing analytics data to measure ROI
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills (written and verbal)
  • Strong ability to act as a team player and foster a collaborative team environment
  • Ability to think creatively and demonstrate effective problem-solving skills
