Events Assistant (Part-Time)

Job Summary:

We are looking for a highly motivated and organised part-time Events Assistant to come and join our small but mighty team. As the Event Assistant, you will report directly to the Operations Manager and assist the team with organising and delivering our popular street food festivals. This role is an exciting opportunity to develop your event management skills working within a fast-paced environment.

You will see our events from the earliest planning stage through to delivery. From sourcing traders to serve food at our events, handling contracts, producing and chasing invoices in our accounting software Xero and collecting paperwork. Your excellent communication skills and organisation will play a key role in the business to ensure the smooth running of our events and a steady cash flow. You will need to be confident with regular contact with traders and suppliers via email and phone.

Full training will be provided, but an understanding of Google Drive and accountancy software is beneficial.

Duties may include:

• Sourcing and liaising with traders for our events
• Invoicing traders for events
• Chasing traders for invoice payments
• Collecting trader paperwork for events, and helping traders with Risk Assessments or other paperwork when required
• Liaising with Councils and EHO about trader paperwork
• Daily administrative duties

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Great time management skills
• Able to work under pressure and to deadlines
• Ability to organise and prioritise workloads
• Confident with working independently
• Strong attention to detail
• Familiarisation with Google Docs, Sheets etc.
• An interest in the food and events industry

We are offering a rate of £11.50 per hour on a weekly basis of 22.5 hours per week. There will be a 3-month probation period and the opportunity to extend the role to assist with other areas of the business. This is an office-based position in our office in Cardiff, with opportunities to work from home.
