Membership Events experience is desirable.

An excellent opportunity for an Events and Marketing Manager to join a thriving and highly respected Membership Body. Remote based with twice a week into the South Cambridgeshire office.

About the Role

The position of Events and Marketing Manager is an exciting and high-profile new role that will combine:

  • Event Management: Coordinating both physical and virtual member
  • PR, Marketing Strategy & Content: Marketing strategy, analytics, social media content management (LinkedIn, Twitter, Instagram) as well as website, email & print, and member satisfaction analysis.

The role is ideal for someone with a flair for marketing communication and member engagement, who also has a strong background in event management, particularly organising large conferences and webinars. The role is suited to flexible hybrid working, with the expectation that 1-2 days a week will be spent in the office. There will be an occasional requirement to work away from home for 2-3 days at a time when managing conference events

- approximately 3 times per year. This lively and varied post requires an enthusiastic self-starter who can multi- task, work to deadlines and take the initiative. The post involves a high level of interaction with members and stakeholders of all levels of seniority, so the post-holder must combine a professional approach with a friendly and welcoming manner. The post-holder would also benefit from a background or interest in science, technology, innovation, business support and R&D.

Key Responsibilities

This role is primarily responsible for:

Event Planning & Management
  • Planning and coordinating logistics of physical national conferences with 150-200 delegates, 3 times per year
  • Planning and coordinating logistics for regional group meetings
  • Planning and coordinating logistics for webinars (Zoom)
  • Setting up and management of online delegate registration systems (Eventbrite)
  • Distributing invitations and handling RSVPs for events (Outlook/Mailchimp)
  • Organising event logistics such as catering, AV, transportation, exhibition spaces, accommodation
  • Production of event materials as required, including badges, programmes, banners, presentation slides
  • Tracking event costs and income against budget (Excel)
  • Collecting and analysing data on event attendees and other forms of physical engagement
  • On-the-day events coordination at various member locations, ensuring they run to schedule, meeting and greeting delegates and anticipating and responding to issues with professionalism.
PR & Marketing
  • Implementing PR and marketing strategy
  • Collecting and analysing marketing analytics
  • Measuring member Satisfaction (SurveyMonkey)
  • Creating and managing social media content - posts, replies (LinkedIn, Twitter)
  • Creating graphical and video content for Instagram, TikTok etc (Canva, Adobe)
  • Curating social media presence and developing the Association's 'voice'
  • Assisting with development of content for website, email and print - blog posts, newsletters & articles
Team Administration
  • Assisting with CRM system data entry
  • Providing organisational support to the UKSPA team
  • Responding to calls and emails from staff, stakeholders and industry partners
  • Assisting with other team projects as required
