Job Description:
As an Events Officer, you'll play a pivotal role in developing, managing, and delivering an engaging programme of events across our parks and open spaces. Collaborating with the Open Spaces and Active Living Manager, you'll craft initiatives that encourage community participation, promote active lifestyles, and maximise the use of our outdoor facilities. From fun days to regular programs, your creativity will help shape memorable experiences for our residents.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop, manage, and deliver a comprehensive programme of events in parks and open spaces.
- Provide guidance on event policies and act as the primary contact for event bookings, ensuring all procedures are followed.
- Collaborate with internal departments and external partners to identify partnership opportunities and enhance community engagement.
- Establish strong relationships with stakeholders, including council members and external organisations, to promote our events and initiatives effectively.
- Oversee event logistics, including obtaining necessary licenses, legal agreements, and risk assessments.
- Evaluate event success and prepare reports to inform future planning and decision-making.
- Coordinate with the communications team to ensure promotional materials align with corporate communication policies.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Third-level qualification in Event Management, Leisure and Tourism, Cultural Tourism, Marketing, or equivalent.
- Minimum of one year's relevant experience in developing, managing, and evaluating events or activities programmes, including staff supervision.
- Experience in community engagement and developing partnerships to increase facility usage.
- Proficiency in budget management and operational planning.

- Strong customer care skills with a focus on delivering excellent service.
- Effective work planning and project management abilities.
- Demonstrated expertise in partnership working across diverse sectors.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to represent the department professionally.
- Leadership qualities with a collaborative approach to team decision-making.
- Proficiency in performance and budget management, including data analysis and decision-making.
Additional Information:
Full-Time, Temporary.
Location: Belfast City Centre
Working Hours: 9am-5pm
Salary: £17.53 p/h
