The Royal Academy of Music is a stimulating and friendly environment with a diverse mix of students and staff from over 50 countries. Based in central London, we have been training musicians to the highest professional standards since 1822. We are firmly focussed on developing tomorrow's musical leaders in disciplines including classical, jazz, media and musical theatre.

We seek an Evidence, Evaluation and Planning Coordinator for the Widening Participation Department of the Academy. This role supports the data capture, evidence gathering and evaluation of the Your Academy programme and other Widening Participation activities. This role works largely with the Head of Widening Participation and connects with colleagues in Junior Academy (our Saturday pre-18 music provision programme) and Philanthropy.

The data capture includes collecting, processing and presenting information and statutory returns on our Widening Participation projects for the Office for Students, philanthropic funders and the Academy community. The role also covers developing and maintaining data models, identifying trends and conducting analysis. This feeds into strategic planning.

You will also assist with the delivery of Your Academy programme of clubs, collectives and summer schools as well as Widening Participation activities as required, working directly with music tutors, children, young people, schoolteachers and music hubs. There will be some weekend or evening work for showcases or performances.

This role requires significant experience of data collection in a higher education or third sector context and experience of interrogating statistical information and understanding the context of data sets. Fluent writing skills for generating narrative project summaries, and strong oral skills in communicating complex data to a range of audiences are key. You will have a keen interest in the provision of access to music education and an affinity for working with young people and supporting their learning.

The Academy is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and applicants must be willing to undergo child protection screening appropriate to the post, including checks with past employers and the Disclosure and Barring Service.

Completed applications must be received by 23.59 on Wednesday 20 March 2024.

Interviews are expected to take place on-site on week commencing 2 April 2024.

The Academy accepts applications from non-UK citizens who have the right to work in the UK. Please note that the Academy is unable to provide a certificate of sponsorship for this role, as this role does not meet the eligibility requirements for a skilled worker visa.

Enquiries or applications from recruitment agencies will not be accepted.

The Academy values diversity and welcomes your application.

We particularly welcome applications from black, Asian and minority ethnic candidates, LGBTQ+ candidates, and candidates with disabilities because we would like to increase the representation of these groups in these roles. We want to do this because we know greater diversity will lead to greater results for students.
