Exam Invigilator

Contract type: Zero Hours (UK Only)

Location: Stockton-on-Tees, Durham University International Study Centre

Salary: £12 per hour

We are seeking dedicated and reliable Exam Invigilators to join our team. As an Exams Invigilator, you will play a crucial role in maintaining the integrity and smooth conduct of examinations.

You will work as directed by the Assessment Coordinator to ensure that student examinations are carried out in accordance with policy and procedures.

ABOUT THE ROLE

• Pre-exam preparation
  
  • Assisting with the collection of all the exam papers, stationery, and materials for transportation to the exam venue
  • Ensuring the exam venue is set up and ready for the exam to begin on time.
• Preparation at the exam venue
  
  • Ensuring all the necessary paperwork is completed, posters displayed, materials distributed, and rooms checked ready for the exam to start.
• Beginning the exam
  
  • Ensuring the students are under exam conditions as soon as they enter the exam venue and ensuring student ID is checked.
• During the exam
  
  • Ensuring the necessary paperwork is completed and that exam regulations are adhered to throughout.
  • Ensuring that exam conditions are not compromised.
• At the end of the exam
  
  • Ensuring the exam procedures are followed and that all paperwork is completed before the students are dismissed in an orderly manner
  • Ensuring those students without ID are dealt with in accordance with procedures
• Dealing with incidents
  
  • Ensuring that any incidents which may arise during the exam are reported to the Chief Invigilator so that they may deal with these in accordance with procedures and guidelines laid down.

ABOUT YOU

• If you are selected, you MUST attend our Exam Invigilator Training. This post is subject to an enhanced DBS check for successful applicants.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
• Experience of speaking to a large group of students/people.
• Strong record-keeping skills.
• Fluent in spoken and written English.
