Prospectus is delighted to be working exclusively with Elrha to support the recruitment of their Head of Research Programme Initiatives. This is a pivotal leadership role leading the strategic and operational development of Elrha’s research initiatives to advance their work to realise the potential of an integrated approach to research and innovation within the humanitarian ecosystem.
Elrha is a global organisation which finds solutions to complex humanitarian problems through research and innovation. They are an established actor in the humanitarian community, working in partnership with humanitarian organisations, researchers, innovators, and the private sector to tackle some of the most difficult challenges facing people all over the world.
The Head of Research Programme Initiatives will oversee the organisation’s Research for Health in Humanitarian Crises (R2HC) programme and will be accountable for designing and leading the delivery of the next phase of the R2HC programme to ensure it maintains and advances its position as a respected funder of humanitarian health research. As an active participant in Elrha’s Leadership Group, the post holder also leads Elrha’s organisational objective to build a stronger relationship between research, innovation and humanitarian practice.
The successful candidate will be an experienced humanitarian professional with a high level of academic training (PhD or Masters) and extensive experience in humanitarian research, ideally in public health. You will have significant experience in programme management, research and innovation, knowledge management and MEAL. You will excel in scoping, developing and maintaining relationships with partner organisations and external agencies to meet mutual goals and for programme expansion. You will have experience in programme design and grant management at a senior level within the humanitarian sector.
