Job Details
We have an exciting opportunity to join Suffolk County Council's Business Management Team as an Executive Assistant to the Director of Adult Social Care and Adult Social Care’s cabinet lead member, working from Endeavour House, Ipswich.
Your role and responsibilities
This is a fast-paced role working directly to the Director of Adult Social Care and Cabinet Lead member.
You must have excellent interpersonal skills and political awareness together with well-developed PA skills. This role is line managed by the Head of Business Management as part of the Business Management Team and is a fixed-term 12-month contract or secondment on a full-time basis. (37 hours per week).
You must be highly organised, have good attention to detail and be able to work flexibly to meet deadlines. This role requires an individual who can quickly acquire a good understanding of the Council agendas and apply this knowledge to deal efficiently and professionally with a wide range of business issues.
You will need
- excellent IT skills with a digital approach to all new work
- confidence to work with all staff and partners on behalf of the Director
- to be able to work on your own initiative and ensure work is effectively managed or delegated
- excellent diary management experience and skill
- good communication skills for a wide range of audiences and formats
- forward thinking, proactive approached
- to be well organised.

The team
The Business Management Team is based in Endeavour House but is part of the wider Business and Finance Service which is based across the county. This role sits within the team in Business Management and will report directly to the Head of Business Management.
The Business Management Team makes things happen, playing a pivotal role in Adult Social Care (ASC). We support and enable many of the functions in ASC and work with colleagues across the localities and central teams, operating as a central pool of excellence and experience within the directorate.
We are a small yet dynamic team, always delivering above expectations and supporting each other to achieve this. No day is the same in central Business Management and we are flexible and agile, regularly picking up new and exciting projects and delivering on tight deadlines.
