Description
Role Purpose and Role Dimensions:
>To provide self-directed and proactive Executive Support to the Director to which the postholder has been aligned - noting that there is provision for the postholder to be realigned on a temporary basis to other Director posts if required to meet business needs.
>Acting as an Executive Support 'partner' to the Director within the Divisional Leadership Team to enable and facilitate the achievement of the Director's and Corporate Leadership Team's strategic objectives and key outcomes; as well as the Divisional objectives and outcomes.
>To work collaboratively with other Executive Support Officers both within Business Support and within the Chief Executive's office.
Key Elements:
>Preparing and debriefing after key meetings that the Director has - ensuring key actions are noted and acted upon, and providing the Director with a confidential and trusted facility for reflection and discussion with the post holder providing a trusted and valued single point of reference for the Director and Division.
>To organise, and take notes at key meetings that are necessary for the Director and Council to meet its statutory and legal obligations (and where alternatives to note taking are not cost effective or in line with statutory requirements or Council policy) e.g. Employee relations meetings such as, but not limited to: Discipline, complaints, corporate board meetings, panel meetings.
Essential experience:
High level ICT skills and propensity - and commitment and experience of digitally enabled working and change.
A track record of providing high calibre customer care and of working in close partnership with senior colleagues.
Track record of applying good diplomacy skills Clear evaluative skills and a track record of delivering workable proposals and solutions.
