My client specialises in ground handling and is looking for an experienced Cargo Agent, based at Heathrow Airport (LHR). The successful candidate will be joining a team of 2-3, in a small but busy office within the Cargo department. This is a Monday-Friday position, working 9am until 5:30pm, with HYBRID working opportunities after successful probation/training.
This will be a Temp to Perm role -
Main duties:
- Advising clients on transport requirements, costs & payment methods
- Checking import/export documents to determine cargo contents & classify goods
- Checking and understanding different shipment methods, keeping a record of goods shipped, received and stored
- Administration and use of spreadsheets
- Communicating and coordinating with customers, handling agents & internal departments in an efficient & professional manner
- Ad hoc reporting/admin/projects where required
Requirements:
- Minimum 2 years' cargo agent, reservations agent or customer service agent experience within the airport (essential)
- Portuguese speaking (desired but not essential)
- Must be able to pass a 5 year UK check & DBS check
- Strong administration skills & customer service skills
- Proficient in MS Office (particularly Excel)
- Proficient in CargoSpot (or similar cargo booking system)
- Must have the right to work in the UK with a valid passport/ documents (may be required to travel for 2nd stage interview)
