Extrusion Setter

Our client is a manufacturing company based near Colchester producing products for the marine industry. They are looking to recruit an Extrusion Setter to operate and run PVC extrusion lines. The ideal candidate will have extrusion experience however training can be given to candidates with machine operating/setting experience looking to develop their skills.
What's on offer?

• 40 hours per week Monday to Friday 07:00 to 16:00 with an hours lunch if training is required.
• For candidates with extrusion experience there is the potential to work shifts - early shift
• 6:00 to 15:00 and late shift 12:00 to 21:00
• 20 days' holiday increasing with service to 25 days (plus bank holidays)
• Contributory Pension Scheme (5% Employee/3% Employer)
• Discretionary annual bonus scheme, company sick pay scheme
• Salary: 24k - 30k depending on experience plus shift payment on lates of 38 per night

Duties:

• Set extrusion lines, start extruding machinery and achieve desired product size and finish
• Correct and fault find issues with shape, colour etc
• Work to production schedule and specific details on job sheets, ensure works orders are completed with all relevant information recorded legibly
• Prepare machine tooling and set extruder
• Organise, move and load raw materials monitoring product output and adjusting the machine settings
• Ensure target output is achieved to quality standards and customer requirements
• Monitor extrusion lines, check conditions and rectify any issues before scrap is generated ensuring scrap is kept to a minimum.
• Ensure maintenance and care of tooling, keeping work area safe and clean
• Work closely with team members to ensure a co-operative and friendly environment
• Reporting any machinery issues or hazards.

Candidate requirements:

• Experience of extrusion machine operation preferable however full training on all processes will be given
• Must be abler to work to deadlines and must be focused
• Must have excellent communication skills, be able to adapt to varied tasks and have excellent attention to detail
• Must be physically fit as the manual handling of raw and finished product is required.
