Extrusion Setter - Manufacturing / Machine Setter

Hours: 40hrs per week.Monday to Friday with a rotating shift pattern (1 week earlies / 1 week lates).

Location: Tollesbury, Essex - must drive or live locally due to location of the company.

Permanent Position.

Salary: GBP26,000 - GBP30,000 per annum - depending on experience.

We are working with a busy manufacturing company who are looking for an experienced Machine Setter.

Role responsibilities:

• set extrusion lines safely and effectively;
• starting of the extruder and achieving desired product size and finish;
• correct and fault find issues with shape, colour etc;
• following the production schedule and specific details of job sheets;
• preparing machine tooling and setting extruder;
• organising, moving and loading of raw materials;
• monitoring product output and adjusting the machine settings as required;
• ensuing target output is achieved to quality standards and customer requirements;
• monitor extrusion lines and check conditions and rectifying any issues before scrap is generated;
• ensure scrap is kept to an absolute minimum, double checking set-up before turning on extruder;
• ensure works orders are completed with all relevant information recorded legibly;
• care and maintenance of tooling and keeping work area safe and clean;
• working closely with team members to ensure a co-operative and friendly environment;
• reporting any machinery issues or hazards.

Skills/experience:

• background in a similar role is desirable but not essential as full training on all processes will be given;
• desire to work in a focused environment towards deadlines;
• ability to adapt to varied tasks;
• excellent communication skills;
• good attention to detail;
• physically fit as the manual handling of raw and finished product is required.
