As a Facilities Assistant (Security Attendant Porter is the University's job title within the Department), you will play a key role in ensuring efficient porterage, cleaning, and security across the university estate; working collaboratively to maintain the University environment and support core business delivery. The role will be based at our Attercliffe site, the Advanced Wellbeing Research Centre.
You will be great at liaising with your co-workers and domestic assistants within the facilities team, to ensure that all tasks are undertaken in an efficient, proactive, and professional manner; planning our work in conjunction with the relevant team to ensure effective service provision.
Experience of Facilities Management, including security, cleaning or porterage is essential, for example, security patrolling, waste management, cleaning, fire marshalling, and conflict management. You should also be familiar with a range of the associated administrative activities, such as system test logs, stock control, and fault & request reporting systems.
The role will be predominantly based at our Attercliffe campus; however a degree of flexibility is needed to cover holidays or sickness.
The role is to cover shifts from 15:00 hours to 19:00 hours Monday to Friday, a degree of flexibility is needed to cover holidays or sickness.
This is a permanent role with great benefit and pension.
This is a salaried job and the hourly rate works out as starting at £12.60 increasing to £13.06 per hour with annual increments.
