Working rotating weeks of early shifts (5.30am- 1.30pm) and lates (1.30pm-9.00pm), you will work across a campus as part of the facilities team, ensuring the H&S, cleanliness and maintenance of the premises is of a high standard.
This is a permanent role paying up to £24,150 PA + benefits package.
To be a member of the Facilities Team by undertaking responsibility of the organisation's buildings and provide high quality porterage and facilities services to the organisation across all campuses and outreach centres. To provide a high standard of customer service which supports the day to day work and learning experience of staff and students.
Overview of responsibilities:
1. To ensure and maintain then security of premises by operating the security systems, including the management of key suiting arrangements.
2. To be a member of the Organisation's emergency evacuation team including fire and medical emergencies, in accordance with policy.
3. To operate the heating and ventilation systems and associated plant equipment, maintaining adequate heating and ventilation levels. Ensure that plant rooms are kept clean, tidy and safe. Report any defects where necessary with the line manager. Be fully conversant with main utilisation, service isolation points.
4. To ensure that external grounds and car parks are clean, tidy and safe. That main pathways and entrances are cleared and safe in inclement weather conditions.
5. To carry out weekly testing of fire detection systems ad top ensure that emergency exit routes are clear.
6. To ensure that efficient porterage duties are maintained including the movement of furniture, equipment and goods inward.
7. To ensure that floor maintenance and minor maintenance schedules are maintained and that cleaning duties are carried out in specific food handling areas.
8. To undertake appropriate staff development training as required.
9. To complete First Aid at Work Training, attending any incidents as required.
CORE RESPONSIBILITIES:
10. To take responsibility for Health & Safety issues in his/ her area, liaising with appropriate staff to ensure that policy is carried out.
11. To support quality initiatives promoting the values of the organisation and ensure that outputs and procedures meet quality standards.
12. To actively promote the organisation’s Equality and Diversity Policy.
13. To provide the best possible service to all our customers (both internal and external) in line with the organisation's standards.
14. To be responsible for safeguarding and promoting the welfare of students having due regard to the Organisation’s Child & Vulnerable Adults Protection Policy.
AND such other duties as are within the scope of the spirit of the job purpose, the title of the post and its grading as required.
