The Facilities Operations Team currently have a permanent, full-time (36.5 hours per week) position available, based on Streatham campus and supporting St Luke’s campus. Applicants must possess a clean driving license. Summary of the roleYou will be part of a team of mailroom operatives engaged to fulfil the operational needs of the University, delivering a robust and professional service to the Colleges, Professional Services, and visitors. The mailroom team operates between the hours of 08:30 and 16:30 Monday to Friday, with optional overtime available elsewhere in the department. A full driving license is essential together with an exceptional customer service record. Flexibility and adaptability are key components of this role as operational requirements may change at short notice. These are physically demanding positions and involve driving, lifting, and delivering sacks of mail. Main purpose of the jobReceiving, sorting, and delivering mail, parcels, and other incoming goods for the university estate. Arranging efficient and effective dispatch services, together with associated documentation. Operate franking machines and tracking systems. Driving university vehicles. You will be expected to carry out duties with minimal supervision and will liaise with a wide range of customers. Provide support by answering queries face to face, by telephone and e-mail. You will be expected to conduct yourself in a professional manner during all activities, be well presented and have some knowledge of data protection.
