About The Role
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced individual to join our educational institution as a School Facilities Manager. You will be working Monday to Friday on a full time, permanent basis, 40 hours per week. As the School Facilities Manager, you will be responsible for :- Overseeing the maintenance and operation of all school facilities, ensuring a safe, clean, and functional environment for students, staff, and visitors.
- To be the first point of contact for the management of OCS service delivery to clients
- Provide reports for our client representative and OCS management teams on all aspects of service delivery.
- Responsibility for ensuring due compliance to the contract specification.
- Ensure that risk assessments, safe systems of work and COSHH records are held centrally on the contract for all working practices.
- Ensure that all OCS, Client, and external Contractors are aware of the site procedures and comply with their H&S responsibilities, including the provision of risk assessments and safe working method statements before work commences.
- Undertake regular audits of all service areas and present written reports with recommendation to management. Complete Safe Site Inspections with staff and manage the reporting of accidents, incidents and near misses in line with company process.
- Take responsibility for cost control of the Maintenance, Cleaning, Catering, Security and Utilities and promote methods to maximise profitability & reduce costs without compromising Health & Safety, service or quality.
- Ensure that all procured goods and services are properly receipted upon delivery or completion of works, following company practices.
- To have 2 - 5 years business management experience, qualified professional.
- A Level, further higher education or equivalent.
- NEBOSH/IOSH Certificate would be desirable.
- Certification of Legionella Legislation / Responsible person.
- Membership, appropriate trade qualifications and recognition.
- IT Literate, MS Office/competent in the use of Excel, Power point.
- Minimum of 5 years working in a Education environment
- Business development, retention and championing new and up to date initiatives are keys to success in this role.
- Demonstrable track record of excellent client relationship management and customer-facing/partnering skills.
- Must have experience of full budgetary control to include complex fixed price or nil subsidy contracts
- Excellent personnel, motivational and team building skills. Leader not just a manager - high visibility with integrity and strong ethical values.
- Willingness to develop long term relationships with our clients and other stakeholders.
- Demonstrates a proactive response when dealing with customers.
