Facilities Operator
Working for a fabulous organisation (and building) in York (East), a part time, Facilities Operator is need to work alongside an approachable and supportive Facilities Manager.
The main purpose of this position is to support and assist the Facilities Manager, providing part time holiday cover and facilities at the Centre. This includes room set-up for events, DIY jobs, cleaning supervision, internal and external building checks thereby presenting an efficient and customer-focused service to internal employees and external customers.
The role of Facilities Operator involves the following:
o Supporting the Facilities Team on minor repairs and maintenance where competent and cost effective to do so.
o Be a point of contact alongside the Facilities Manager for the on-site cleaning team, checking their work on a daily basis, raising any issues and advising the Facilities Manager on a daily basis of any problems.
o Ensuring external areas are kept clear and tidy, including gritting, emptying cigarette bins and clearing of snow etc. as required in poor weather conditions.
o Ensuring the water coolers and coffee machines are in good working order, fully stocked, clean and ready for use, also keeping an eye on stock levels and re-ordering where required.
o Carrying out basic plant room checks and early morning review of security report.
o Assisting in the building/movement of furniture and equipment including setting out of training rooms and other areas as required, ensuring they are properly equipped and ready for use.
The successful Facilities Operator will have:
- A hands-on attitude with the ability to pick up tools and get stuck in to any job!
- A mature, positive and enthusiastic manner, where nothing is too much trouble
- Excellent written and oral communication skills, with an ability to interact effectively with a wide range of internal and external customers
- IT skills and a willingness to embrace new technologies
- Ability to maintain attention to detail while working to deadlines and managing a varied workload
Salary: £25k - £30k pro rata dep on experience. - This is a part-time position with potential to increase to full time (if wanted).

Please note: Due to the nature of the Centre's activities, the post holder will occasionally be required to be flexible in working outside normal working hours and be available for occasional weekend working and holiday cover.
