Job Announcement: Train Cleaner (Night Shift)

Are you a diligent and motivated individual with a passion for cleanliness and attention to detail? Our client, a leading industry player in Rail, is seeking a Train Cleaner to join their team on a temporary basis. As a Train Cleaner, you'll play a vital role in ensuring that our client's fleet of trains are kept in pristine condition, ensuring a pleasant and safe experience for passengers.

Working Hours - 8pm - 5am - 4 on 4 off

Key Responsibilities:

• Perform thorough cleaning of train carriages, including sweeping, mopping, dusting, and disinfecting surfaces.
• Maintain high standards of cleanliness in washrooms, seating areas, and common spaces.
• Knowledge and application of Health and Safety regulations, including COSHH (Control of Substances Hazardous to Health) and manual handling procedures.
• Utilise cleaning equipment and relevant chemicals effectively and safely.
• Report any maintenance or repair issues to the appropriate team members.
• Collaborate with colleagues to ensure all trains are cleaned and prepared on schedule.
• Primary role will be to undertake external cleaning of the train by manual methods.
• Undertake specific cleaning of drive-line systems by means of brushing or compressed air.
• With minimal supervision undertake the cleaning of the allocated rolling stock to meet the requirements of the production plan, complying with all local instructions and specifications.
  • Assist other team members where appropriate.
  • Report all defects to Supervisor.
  • Undertake any other duties as and when required.

Desired Skills and Qualifications:

• Previous experience in cleaning or a similar role is preferred but not essential.
• Good communication skills, both oral and written, to facilitate effective teamwork and reporting.
• Attention to detail and the ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Flexibility and a positive attitude towards night shift work.
• Strong knowledge of cleaning equipment, techniques, and the appropriate use of chemicals.

Our client offers an enticing hourly rate of £12.90 , alongside a temporary contract lasting six months. The night shift working pattern ensures that you'll have your days free for other commitments.
