Dandelion Time’s pioneering nature-based therapy seeks to rebuild the confidence and self-belief of children impacted by trauma, enabling them to take the necessary steps to move forward.  To support our expansion across Kent, we have an exciting opportunity to join our dedicated staff team as a Family Caseworker.  From our sites in Maidstone, Ashford and Gravesend, the Family Caseworker will work directly with children and families delivering our unique therapeutic programme aimed at helping families recover from trauma.

The Family Caseworker will manage their own caseload and be responsible for preparing, leading and delivering  family sessions, including organising self and others in craft activities, gardening, meal preparation and individual face to face working. 

Working hours:                30 to 37.5 hours a week over 4 to 5 days (Monday to Saturday).  The working pattern will include Saturdays. 

Location:                         All Dandelion Time’s sites and HQ                            

Experience

To be successful in this role you will have

·      Experience of working in a therapeutic or health agency setting

       Experience of therapeutic work with groups

·      Experience in one or more specialist area for example, (but not limited to) attachment difficulties, trauma, domestic violence, or mental health issues

Skills

·     Skilled in motivating people of all ages especially in a family context.

·     Organised and thorough in your approach to preparing sessions and documenting outcomes

·     Ability to work on own initiative, prioritise your work and deal with competing or conflicting demands.

·     Ability to communicate sensitively and effectively both verbally and in writing with a wide range of people.

Qualifications:

·      Educated to degree level (or comparable)

·      Professional qualification in a related subject, for example, (but not limited to) systemic practice, counselling, psychotherapy, eco-therapy, health visiting, social work or occupational therapy
