We have an exciting opportunity within our Family Wellbeing Service where you'll provide a wide range of support services for vulnerable children and their families, including direct work with children, young people and adults. Throughout this role, you'll ensure the voice of the child is heard and acted upon.
One of the key responsibilities of this role is to supervise and assess contact sessions between children/young people who are at risk of harm. You'll manage risk and challenging behaviours from both adults and children, and empower parents to recognise where they can build and strengthen their relationships with their children. You'll work closely with partner agencies and commissioned services to achieve positive outcomes for children, young people and their families.
About you
We are looking for someone with demonstrable experience of working with children and families in a social care, educational or health care setting.
You'll be a team player with the ability to work alongside professionals and other agencies, and engage and work in partnership with mothers, fathers and carers and with children and young people in order to agree and carry out planned work
We need someone with the ability to analyse and assess needs in partnership with families and prepare clear and concise plans, targets and reports relating to the needs and protection of children
We do ask that you have training in areas of work related to children and families and NVQ3 in child care or equivalent.
We also ask that you are able to work evenings and weekends when necessary (this role has a weekend shift of 1 in every 4 weekends).
