AddressWe are seeking a dedicated and hardworking Farm Maintenance Worker to join our small team. As a Farm Maintenance Worker, you will be responsible for assisting with various tasks related to our daily farm and guest accommodation operations. This is a physically demanding role that requires working outdoors in all weather conditions.
Responsibilities
You will need to have the ability to confidently carry out a variety of the below tasks:
-General maintenance of all areas.
-Joinery such as fixing sheds, repairing doors, laying flooring and tiling, painting.
-Plumbing such as burst pipes, leaky taps, installing troughs.
-Groundworks such as concreating, jet washing, painting, grass cutting.
-Machinery such as oil/filter changes, changing tyres, servicing.
- Perform general farm duties such as assisting with livestock as required.
- Operate and maintain farm machinery and equipment
- Monitor livestock and assist with feeding and care
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of farm buildings and equipment
- Follow safety protocols and maintain a safe working environment
- Collaborate with other team members to ensure efficient farm operations
Experience
- Previous farming experience is not necessary for this role, this is a general DIY type position and will suit someone wanting a change of scenery with an interest in farming or wishing to learn more.
- Knowledge & previous experience in a Maintenance role
- Basic mechanical knowledge
- Basic plumbing experience
- Basic woodworking / joinery experience
- Ability to weld or perform basic electrical repairs is a plus
- Proven ability to maintain attention to detail and a tidy worker
- The ability to work both independently and as part of a team
Due to our location a full driving licence and own transport is essential. Hours 7.30am to 4.30pm Mon to Fri with the expectation of some weekend or evening work as required due to the nature of farming.
