Job description

Amegreen Children’s Services are looking to recruit a full time Maintenance Workerto carry out the effective and efficient gardening and maintenance work to the highest standards in all of our homes and across our sites, which includes our Equine Therapy provision, whilst complying with health and safety requirements.

We have a very clear objective; we create safe, well-kept and attractive environments and homes for our children, young people, staff and our horses who collectively come together to make us who we are - Amegreen Children’s Service’s


Main Responsibilities:

  • Strimming of gardens and grassed areas;
  • Cutting of grass with the equipment provided and tidying the area after;
  • Weed spraying with appropriate chemicals;
  • Litter picking grassed areas before cutting grass;
  • Cutting of hedges and pruning when required;
  • Sweeping of paths, leaving the area clean and tidy;
  • Cleaning and maintenance of all tools and equipment after use;
  • Various ground maintenance tasks;
  • Routine repairs and maintenance across our sites, conducting Health and Safety checks, and routine driving;
  • Adherence to our Health and Safety Polices
  • Work across all homes, schools and outdoor farms.

About you:

  • Able to work outdoors as some of our sites are rural and on farms
  • Confident with animals and being on a farm
  • Able to work evenings and weekends if deemed necessary, you will be working on an on-call system
  • Can follow a work schedule, are organised and structured to use a booking system of tasks.
  • Able to prioritise and work under pressure.
  • Have a full clean drivers licence
