The Donkey Sanctuary is an international animal welfare organisation, offering care and protection to donkeys worldwide. Our vision is a world where every donkey has a good quality of life, and our mission is to improve the lives of donkeys every day. Il Rifugio degli Asinelli was established in 2006 and is a subsidiary of The Donkey Sanctuary, UK. Over 50 million donkeys and mules exist in the world. Many need care and protection from a life of suffering and neglect, whilst others have a vital role to play in human survival and happiness – they are at the heart of everything we do here at Il Rifugio degli Asinelli.
