Fellowship Lead Midwife

1. Demonstrate contemporary clinical expertise in Midwifery care, working in the clinical environment supporting junior staff under direction from the Lead Band 7 Fellowship Midwife to deliver direct patient care, with a specific focus on supporting newly qualified midwives to develop the skills, knowledge and expertise required to deliver high quality safely and confidently, evidence-based care. 2. Use every opportunity to facilitate teaching, learning and reflection within the clinical area and ensure training and development needs of staff are considered in any changes in practice and service developments in order to tailor individual support. 3. To ensure training needs of Newly qualified and Internationally educated Midwives are met by providing a suitable learning environment and by engaging in clinical teaching where appropriate. To ensure and participate in preceptorship/mentorship support systems for midwives and students within the Trust. 4. To form part of the escalation process.
