Job Overview:
We are seeking enthusiastic temporary Festival Staff to join our amazing team for the Edinburgh fringe festival this August! We are based in Summerhall which is a large arts venue hosting many events over the fringe period. We will have hundreds of people every day coming through our doors where we will offer food, drink, coffee and cake!
These positions are temporary and will be from mid/end of July until the end of August 2024.
We will have training in July before the festival starts to ensure we have a smooth running team for the festival starting!
We are looking for both FOH staff and BOH.
Full time or part time baristas.
Full time or part time cooks/ chefs
Responsibilities for FOH
- Provide excellent customer service and work quickly and efficiently.
- Make coffees, teas and other hot and cold drinks.
- Support all other staff with their tasks if needed.
- Assist in maintaining cleanliness and organization of the café.
- Clear tables, restock fridges and any other jobs needed to keep things running smoothly.
Experience:
- Previous experience as a barista is required.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong communication and team work skills required.
- Flexibility to adapt to changing tasks and priorities
Responsibilities for BOH
- Prepare sandwiches and salads to meet specification.
- Abide by food hygiene standards.
- Help wash kitchen dishes, organise stock and maintain an organised environment.
- Help with baking if needed
Experience:
- Previous experience in a professional/commercial kitchen is required.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong communication and team work skills required.
- Flexibility to adapt to changing tasks and priorities
