Role: Field Application Specialist

Location: Edinburgh

CT19 are working with a growing biotech company in Edinburgh, enabling cell therapy manufacturing at scale by revealing novel insights into our client’s bioprocesses. Using a revolutionary spectroscopy technique to create an impartial & holistic cell analysis technology, ranging from microchip integrated sensors to powerful analytics.



As the Field Application Specialist, you will act as the interface between the unique Spectroscopy Instruments, Process Development, MSAT, NPI scientists & engineers. This role will combine demonstrating new technology for laboratories, providing customer support (including travelling to customer sites) & troubleshooting equipment problems.



Responsibilities:



  • Actively support collaborators & customers as the first point of contact in the field
  • Supporting installations & be the technical expert in translating customer pain points, into requirements that are effectively communicated internally to the relevant teams
  • Triage customer issues after implementation using a team-based approach. I.e., engaging Sales / Business Development / Chief Commercial Innovation Officer when qualifying opportunities, turning challenges into solution opportunities
  • Participate in collaborator projects that aim to generate biologically relevant data, demonstrating our clients’ technological capabilities
  • A blend of remote meetings along with (up to 70%) travel & on-site work, including reporting


Knowledge & Experiences:



  • Relevant degree & industry experience in life sciences (e.g., biological sciences, biomedical science) & minimum of 3 years industry (or equivalent) experience (ideally in a customer facing role, specifically in the life sciences industry)
  • Comfortable with a dynamic work environment & schedule, including working on multiple projects & application areas in a day & managing flexible travel plans (up to 70% travel & overnight when required)
  • Knowledge of cell-based culture & analysis platforms & associated data interpretation/statistical analysis such as flow cytometry, ELISA, qPCR.
  • Familiarity with bioreactor operations & experience in GLP/GMP/ISO standards.
  • Experience in performing laboratory related tasks such as tissue culture is required for technology training, & to be able to provide scientific support as required to customers/collaborators.
