CT19 are working with a growing biotech company in Edinburgh, enabling cell therapy manufacturing at scale by revealing novel insights into our client’s bioprocesses. Using a revolutionary spectroscopy technique to create an impartial & holistic cell analysis technology, ranging from microchip integrated sensors to powerful analytics.
As Research & Development Specialist, you will be the interface between the between the unique Spectroscopy Instruments & bench scientists. This role combines demonstrating new technology for labs, providing customer support, troubleshooting equipment problems as well as working on collaborator & internal projects, as part of a multi-disciplinary bioscience team.
Responsibilities:
- Prioritise up to 70% time for internal lab / office-based work, & up to 30% travel (including overnight when required) - travelling will be project-dependent
- Participate in collaborator & internal projects that aim to generate biologically relevant data demonstrating our clients’ technological capabilities. Including experimental work, data analysis, reporting & presentation writing
- Provide pre-sales support & training of our technology platforms to collaborators/customers, strategics & responsiveness toward future prospect partners’ &/or investors’ analyst teams
- Serve as a hyper-care point of contact for ring-fenced collaborators at first, followed by selected customers
- Be the technical expert to translate customer pain points into requirements that are effectively communicated internally as feedback to the relevant teams
- Triage customer issues as they arise after implementation using a team-based approach (i.e. engaging Chief Commercial Innovation Officer & Head of PM in potential collaboration/co-development leads & opportunities).
- Blend of remote meetings, along with travel & on-site work, including laboratory projects experimental work & reporting.
Knowledge & Experiences:
- Minimum of 2 years industry (or equivalent) experience & minimum of 1 year experience in a customer facing role, specifically in the life sciences industry.
- An appropriate degree & industry experience in life sciences (e.g., biological sciences, biomedical science).
- Knowledge of cell-based culture & analysis platforms & associated data interpretation/statistical analysis such as flow cytometry, ELISA, qPCR.
- Perform laboratory related tasks such as tissue culture, technology assessment & routine cell-based assays (e.g. flow cytometry) for internal testing & collaborator projects carried out in-house.
- Experience is also required to be able to provide scientific support as required to customers/ collaborators. Proactively taking initiative to accelerate problem solving and troubleshooting
