Job Title:Field Service Engineer

Salary: £37,548+ depending on skills and experience
What you'll be doing:
- Acting as a Sceptre subject matter expert
- Deputising for the Team Leader in their absence
- Being accountable to the On-Base Sceptre Field Service Team Leader for; investigate, triage and rectify (where possible) issues escalated by Sceptre 1st Line (customer) Support
- Providing Technical Queries advice and support
- Validating system updates to check that functionality is unaffected
- Undertaking any scheduled maintenance of the system
Your skills and experiences:
Essential:
- Experience working with ESS or GSS
- Strong IT skills, with knowledge or experience of Windows Server operating systems and an understanding of server architecture and network storage
- Recognised IT qualifications or equivalent in subjects such as Microsoft Fundamentals, Microsoft server 2019, Basic Administration of Microsoft Endpoint Configuration Manager or PowerShell
Desirable:
- Understanding of a military environment / Typhoon fast jet experience advantageous
- Experience working with Sceptre

The Sceptre Field Service team:
BAE Systems have developed a modular based Mission Planning System (MPS) which is in development and due to go live in July. This is a new team to support Sceptre, a mission planning tool which is critical to RAF operational activities. This is a dynamic fast paced environment with the potential for overseas travel and travel to various RAF bases, including Lossiemouth and Marham.
